Cleveland residents usually define themselves in terms of whether they live on the east side or the west side of the Cuyahoga River.

The West Side of the city is comprised of the following neighborhoods:

Three neighborhoods in the Cuyahoga Valley are sometimes called the South side: Industrial Valley/Duck Island, Slavic Village, and Tremont.

Downtown Cleveland

Downtown Cleveland has mixed-use neighborhoods such as the Warehouse District, filled with office buildings, shops, restaurants, and bars. Downtown housing has increased over the past ten years and will continue in that direction.
